This randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial investigated the effect of wearing knee-length graduated compression stockings during the daytime on nocturia. Adults with nocturia wore either graduated compression stockings or non-graduated stockings for 14 days. The graduated compression stocking group showed a greater reduction in nighttime urinary frequency than the control group, and no adverse events were reported. These findings suggest that daytime use of graduated compression stockings may be a safe and non-invasive option for reducing nocturia. |

This prospective pilot study investigated the effects of individualized urinary care on urinary incontinence and cognitive function in institutionalized older adults with functional urinary incontinence. Individualized care included bladder function assessment, drinking guidance, and toileting assistance based on each participant’s voiding patterns and signs. After six months, cognitive function significantly improved among participants whose urinary incontinence resolved. These findings suggest that individualized urinary care may contribute not only to improved continence but also to the maintenance or improvement of cognitive function in older adults. |

This study examined whether individualized comprehensive continence care could improve cognitive function in older adults with lower urinary tract symptoms. Continence care was tailored to each participant’s urinary symptoms, voiding patterns, fluid intake, and toileting needs. After one year of continued individualized care, improvements in cognitive function were observed together with better continence outcomes. These findings suggest that comprehensive continence care may contribute not only to the management of urinary symptoms but also to the maintenance or improvement of cognitive function in older adults. |

This randomized, double-blind, controlled trial investigated the effect of wearing knee-high compression stockings during the daytime on nocturia. Adults aged 40–79 years with nocturia were assigned to wear either compression knee-high socks or regular knee-high socks for 14 days. The compression group showed a significantly greater reduction in nocturnal urinary frequency than the control group. Both groups also showed improvements in nocturia-related quality of life, and no adverse events were reported. These findings suggest that daytime use of knee-high compression stockings may be a safe and non-pharmacological option for reducing nocturia. |
